Parent Teacher Organization
Welcome to the new school year. PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization. It is a partnership between the teachers, staff, students, parents, and the community working together to provide fun, friendship, activities, and more to every student and their family.
The PTO offers many ways to volunteer and get involved at the school. We are looking for volunteers for working different or specific events, to be on a committee(s), or to serve as a board member (1 - 2 year commitment) and help plan the meetings/events for the entire school year(s). We are hoping to fill at least 2 new board member positions as soon as possible. If you are interested in being a board member, please see the copy of the bi-laws attached at the bottom of this page and complete a one page questionnaire. For those who want to volunteer by event or committee instead of the board member capacity there are many things to choose from.
Our organization for our board members is unique. We don't have the president, treasurer and other positions that other schools often do. Instead we are all equal and the board members vote on issues and approve them by majority consent. This is one of the reasons why it is so important to get more board members; we want more people in the decision making process and we value the opinion and experiences of others.
