Scholars beat 100,000 math puzzles goal in ST Math
The challenge was issued, and Riverdale scholars, of course, beat it! In early October, Riverdale instructional coach Mrs. Jenny Krautler spoke on morning announcements to provide an update on student progress on ST Math and challenge everyone from kindergarten through 5th grade. Could they solve 100,000 ST Math puzzles by October 31?
ST Math is a digital, visual instructional program that engages students in creative and rigorous problem-solving, allowing them to see the math and grow. Throughout the week, scholars have the opportunity to solve ST Math puzzles at their grade level during WIN time.
As scholars work toward completing 100% of their math journey for the year, they earn rewards such as a trip to the candy cart or getting to keep a JiJi stuffed penguin for a day. They also pose by the ST Math goal chart for pictures shared with families on the ClassDojo app's school story.
November arrived, and Mrs. Krautler, or "The JiJi Lady" to some scholars, had the exciting news to share. By October 31, scholars had solved 106,472 puzzles!
How many will they solve this school year? Last year, scholars solved 410, 921.
