Dozens earn a slice at Principal's Pizza Party

Dozens of Riverdale scholars finished the school year with invitations to a VIP-style event in the library!  On May 18, principal Tanya Garcia and instructional coach Jenny Krautler, aka "The ST Math Lady" to some students, hosted the special lunch as a reward for students who completed 100% of their ST Math journey this school year. 

After all students in kindergarten-5th grade began their journeys in the fall, Mrs. Krautler invited them onto morning announcements when they reached 100% so that the whole school could see them and hear their strategies. She also posted a photo of each scholar outside the cafeteria, creating a true hall of fame, AND she prepared homemade cupcakes to serve at the party too. 

Congratulations to these hard-working scholars on their well-earned Principal's Pizza Party invitations!

ST Math is an instructional program that engages students in rigorous problem-solving. Students were encouraged to work on ST Math throughout the week during their independent work time at school and at home. Starting with the 2026-2027 school year, Riverdale will implement Adams 12's goal of reduced screen time for students, with usage in K-2 limited to 15 minutes per day and students in 3-5 limited to 45 minutes per day.
