November/December 2017 Newsletter

November/December 2017

Dear Riverdale Families,

It’s hard to believe, but we are nearly twelve weeks into the school year! Our three months with your children have been filled with amazing learning – we are dedicated to ensuring that each scholar at Riverdale Elementary improves as a thinker and a citizen every day.   Our school mission statement says it all… We are career-bound scholars going from good to better to best to achieve success!
Thank you for joining us at Parent/Teacher Conference Day this past month.  It is exciting to discuss your child’s growth and achievements with you, while setting high goals for learning.
The autumn weather has finally hit our state, and some mornings it can feel like winter!  Please remind your scholars to dress warmly and include gloves and hats when needed.  We will continue to have outdoor recess when temperatures are dry and above 20 degrees.
Did you know that Riverdale has now been open for thirty years, and has served nearly 12,000 students?  Please join us for our thirty year celebration on November 16th from 3:30-5:00!
Just a reminder, we have a few holidays in the months of November and December when school will not be in session.  Please see the dates below for holidays and Riverdale events:

In our ongoing efforts to provide the safest and most secure environment for our scholars, we ask that drivers remember the following points for morning and afternoon arrival and dismissal at Riverdale:

• Always come to a complete stop at the stop signs
• Pause at crosswalks and observe if students are waiting to cross.  Come to a complete stop and do not continue until all students have crossed the street
• Do not make U-Turns on the street in front of our school
• Refrain from parking in the cross walks at all times
• Do not drop your student off in the street, use the Hug and Go lane for student drop off

Thank you so much for helping us keep our scholars safe at all times!  As always, if you should have any questions or concerns, please feel free to give us a call at 720-972-5580.  We enjoy the opportunity to serve you and your children at Riverdale Elementary!

Sincerly,

Kristin Golden, Principal
Riverdale Elementary School
