Riverdale 2nd Grade Remote Learning
Remote learning in Adams 12 Five Star Schools will be asynchronous--all students in a class access and learn the same material but do so at different times and from different locations. This approach does not require that the teacher and students be online at the same time.
Adams 12 Five Star Schools recommends that second graders spend about one hour per day on remote learning. This time can be all at once or split up through the day. In addition, we recommend that students read every day for 20-30 minutes.
2nd Grade Remote Learning Resources: This provides an overview of the tools second graders will use for receiving and submitting assignments and--just as importantly--staying connected with their classmates and me.
I will track attendance based on weekly student participation and work completion.
I will grade work based on work completion and provide feedback when needed through SeeSaw.
It’s so important for our thinking and feeling brains to stay connected! I will be available during the times below on:

2nd Grade Remote Learning Assignments and Updates
I will post a week’s worth of assignments by Sunday night at 9 pm to ensure maximum flexibility and opportunities for students and parents to access the resources, ask questions and submit assignments. Please submit all assignments by 7 pm the following Sunday.
The weekly assignments will cover learning in Reading, Writing, Math, Science/Social Studies, and foundational literacy. Additionally, there will be links to learning posted by Art, Music, P.E., English Language Development and Social Emotional Learning specialists.
The “Must Do” assignments are most important and should be completed before students move on to additional, optional assignments listed in the “Can Do” section. Students will NOT be penalized for not completing all assignments. However, we expect that they are making progress on assignments.
